Gone are the days of standing in long lines at the bank or the electricity office to pay your bill. Today you can pay your electricity bill in Pakistan from your phone in under two minutes using JazzCash, Easypaisa or your bank’s mobile app. This guide shows you exactly how, step by step.
What You Need Before Paying
Keep two things ready: your reference number (14 digits for most companies, 13 for K-Electric, or the consumer number for gas bills) and the bill amount. If you do not have the paper bill, check your bill online first to get the exact payable amount and confirm the due date.
Pay With JazzCash
1. Open the JazzCash app and log in.
2. Tap “Pay Bills” and choose “Electricity”.
3. Select your company (LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, K-Electric, etc.).
4. Enter your reference or consumer number.

Pay With Bank Apps
Almost every bank app in Pakistan — Meezan, HBL, UBL, MCB, Allied Bank and others — has a bill payment option. 1. Open your bank app and log in.
2. Go to “Payments” or “Bill Payment” and select “Utility Bills” or “Electricity”.
3. Choose your company and enter your reference or consumer number.
4. The app fetches your bill — verify the name and amount.
5. Confirm with your PIN or OTP. Bank apps are free for most bill payments and give you a proper digital receipt you can download.
How to Confirm Your Payment Went Through
After paying, always check three things: the SMS or in-app receipt with a transaction ID, the amount deducted from your account, and — after 24 to 48 hours — your bill status. You can check your SSGC bill online or your electricity company’s checker a day or two later to make sure the bill no longer shows as unpaid. Keep the receipt until the next bill arrives without arrears.
5 Safety Tips for Online Bill Payment
1. Use only official apps. Download JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank apps from the Play Store or App Store — never from links sent by strangers.
2. Never share your OTP or MPIN. No real company ever asks for these on a call.
3. Check the name before paying. The app shows the consumer name after you enter the reference number. If it is not your name, stop.
4. Pay before the due date. Online payments are instant, but pay at least a day early to be safe from late surcharges.
5. Keep your reference number private. Anyone with your reference number can view your bill details.
What If the Payment Fails or the Bill Still Shows Unpaid?
First, check whether the money left your account. If it did and the bill still shows unpaid after 48 hours, contact your bank or JazzCash/Easypaisa helpline with the transaction ID. If the money did not leave your account, simply try again. Never pay twice for the same bill without confirming the first payment failed — duplicate payments are hard to reverse.
Paying your electricity bill online takes two minutes and saves you a trip in the heat. Pick the app you already use, keep your reference number saved on your phone, and pay a day before the due date every month.
